Square One on Fountain near Vermont

I briefly met drummer/percussionist/sound philosopher Greg Ellis over a month ago during the Portal project his wife Aparna co-produced at the Mercado de Paloma with the awesome Maryam Hosseinzadeh. We had meant to meet and talk another time but it took a bit to schedule. Finally, we met to exchange notes on the art and science of sound yesterday. It was a great dialogue. Greg suggested Square One, 206 W Bonita Ave, Claremont, CA 91711, which I had not been to. I found out the next day through Karla Diaz that the former Director of LAX Art is opening up a commercial gallery across the street called THERE THERE. Everything is connected. Greg said he always orders the Egg Benedict so I chose the one with Salmon. The food was good, slightly salty as one would expect with LOX type salmon and the service excellent; very nice folk. I really appreciated speaking with Greg because not all sound artists have an interest in the socio-politcal impacts of sound and Greg most definitely does.
