Tenanmpal in Boyle Heights

 The amazing artist Rafa Cardenas and I had lunch at one of his favs, Tenanmpal, 1859 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90033. The Chef is someone from the region who did well in very high end establishments and came back to bring something deeply special, his spin on classic Mexican dishes. I was amazed at the attention to detail and complex taste compositions. My goodness! I wish Jonathan Gold were still alive to try this jewel.
