Nine and Nine Thai Kitchen in Pasadena

Nine and Nine Thai Kitchen, 738 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91101 was our choice one evening. That is, Max Gelman of Side Street Projects and I met with Jose Salcedo Sensei to learn more about the Japanese Tea Ceremony, which Sensei teaches in Alta Dena, at the beautiful tea house at the Sakahara Estate. I've been there many times now in hopes for inspiration for my project at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple, namely #invisibleteahouse . Hungry, Max and I decided to go here to continue our collaborative conversation about what is now titled : Invisible Tea House: Misonodana Time Machine. The menu was expansive. It was a cold Pasadena evening. Max had been here many times and it was my first. We ordered a little too much off the menu and it was all quite glorious. The restaurant was filled with many late night conversations, a great energy to eat piping hot Thai food. As you can see from the photos, we ordered an array. This was for two; too much. it was only two of us. We left in a food coma. We ended up walking to a book shop Max used to work at, where i bought a used box set of 45's; The Velvet Underground. It was a good evening.
