Several months ago, I was on a bike ride organized by Eastside Riders. It was fantastic, a casual tour of Watts. One of the participants, a long time resident of Watts recommended Granny's Kitchen for soul food, 4728, 5440 S Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90011. I had never heard of it. Last week, i finally got a chance to check it out. I went to a artist talk at the Mistake Room and hooked up with artists Thinh Nguyen and Neha Choski for a impromptu lunch date. This place is fabulous! The greens where rich and tender but not over cooked, the ribs were all sauced up and the mac n cheese was crazy delicious. Drinks? When Koolaid is on the menu, you order Koolaid.
