Jay's International Market St. Louis MO

One of the many places I was shown while in STL was Jay's International Market. Located at 3172 S Grand Blvd Saint Louis, MO 63118. It has an extremely eclectic array of products, kind of the United Nations of small markets. It's impossible to leave without buying something. I purchased to soaps from Thailand.

James and Charlie of CounterPublic were gracious in their introduction to STL culture and potential sites for next years public art event.

James told us of an artist-in-residence project a local artist did here once. The artist would regularly set up a chair and watercolor supplies and paint inside the market. When they meet a customer interested in what they are doing, they exchange a watercolor for a recipe. The project concluded with everyone bringing their dish for a community meal.
