Pizza of Venice (in Alta Dena)

I and artist Max Geldman of Side Street Project are researching the history of a Japanese tea house that once was located at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple but has since been relocated to the Huntington Library in Gardens in San Marino just a few miles south of the Temple. Last week, we met with Jose Salcedo, a Japanese Tea Ceremony Instructor. He teaches at the Sakahara Estate in Alta Dena. The late Sakahara Sensei was the Japanese Tea Ceremony instructor at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple for decades and was a student of the late National Treasure, Matsumoto Sensei. After a wonderful meeting with Salcedo Sensei, Max and I went to Pizza of Venice, 2545 N Fair Oaks Ave, Altadena, CA 91001, which is near the Sakahara Estate to review our notes and continue brainstorming my project, #invisibleteahouse . The pizza was really delicious. We got a salad and shared. I especially want to say that I was so happy to see artist William Attaway's work all over the restaurant. Bill is a multi-talented artist and a fixture of the Venice CA art scene.
