QUAT coffee workshop feturing a very rare roast from Longboard Coffee.

I've posted about QUAT in the past but today I signed up for a very special coffee session with Esther of QUAT who is a coffee brewing specialist. This had to do with an extremely rare roast by Longboard Coffee they had acquired. I and five others gathered for two versions of a boutique roast of which only 10 Kilos exist and QUAT had acquired 1 kilo.

Esther brewed a washed and a natural roast and we got to experience her pour in the lab at QUAT.

I had never participated in such a session before and I can't tell you how magical the two very different tasting brews were. The depths and dynamic flavor was not just exceptional but nearly unbelievable.

Esther is a specialist and her immaculate and intricate brewing technique brought out all of the notes I suspect Longboard intended, on top of the fact that in this lab were all of these high end gear for such an experience to occur.

As a sound artist I especially appreciated the AT turntable and JBL speakers playing an assorted collection of soft instrumental music LPs. Just part of an over the top curated coffee experience I don't think any of will every forget.

if you're interested in such a thing, check out QUATs events as they unfold. I'd been eyeing them for quite sometime and finally jumped in for this special event. It was well worth it.
