24 7 Apartment Cafe in Ikebukuro Tokyo Japan

The day of days. Yayoi picked me up at my AirBnB in Ikebukuro. On this day, i would reunite with her and her family, the mighty Matsunaga's of Sayama. It has been 26 years since we last met. This is the family that welcomed me to Saitama-Ken in 1989 as if I were of blood and took care of me for 18 months while I was a research student at the Japan University School of Fine Arts. BUT before all that, Yayoi made reservations for the two of us at 24 7 Apartment Cafe, 10F 26-6, Minamiikebukuro 1-Chōme, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan 171-0022.

It was a bustling one room high above the Ikebukuro congestion. Designed to look like someones contemporary and hip apartment, we were seated in the center of it all. Yayoi said they are known for their French Toast, so, we ordered French Toast.

Absolutely rich with egg and fluff, it was an awesome breakfast in a scene that felt like a television drama.

Before long the place was packed. i couldn't help but notice it was 95% women. Everyone was having a great time but it was time for us to leave and make our way to Sayama. I drank the rest of my coffee and off we went.
