Osaka Ya in Sacramento CA

 Natalia highly recommended I visit Osaka-Ya as part of my 48 hours in Sacramento earlier this week. Osaka-Ya has been around since 1963.

Natalia said that the family run business has established the next generation of family to continue the shop so unlike so many legacy family-run businesses, Osaka-Ya will be around. They have all the regular wagashi. The sweet outlayer is thicker than other versions I've had but it's so good. I didn't have time to get a hot green tea somewhere but I wished I had. I was surprised at the quality of this wagashi and look forward to a future trip to Sacramento to partake in what I am told is the last of three such mochi shops in California.
