The Humming Bird in Echo Park

A got together with Weba Garretson and Mark Wheaton partially inspired by an email from Mark announcing he was retiring Catasonic Sound, the recording studio I've recorded most of my audio releases for the past two and a half decades.

Mark had wanted to go to The Humming Bird, 1600 N Alvarado Street LA CA 90026, which recently opened near their home.

I've known Weba for a much longer than I've known Mark. I was Weba's intern in Undergrad when she ran the performance program at the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibition in the late 1980's.

It was so good to hang out with them at this fancy Peruvian Fusion spot that opened up recently in Echo Park.

We had Yellow Tail Ceviche, the endive salad, Shrimp dumplings, the Sea bass Ceviche, Salmon Roll and drinks; a cannibus infused sparkling drink.

All the dishes were delicious but of course it was the company that was my delight and focus during this meal. We had such a good time.

I will say that while the food was awesome, I was still hungry walking back to my truck. It cost about $60 each with a little more for tip. You should know that walking in. It might be enough for you or maybe you'll have to swing by Burrito King or Tommy's Burgers on your way back home, lol.

Lastly, they have a piano that anyone can play if they want which i thought was fun.
