LAON on Wilshire Blvd
Michael Pak posted about LAON and so I decided to eat dinner there with Jose Salcedo Sensei, who teaches Ikebana and Tea Ceremony at the Pasadena Buddhist Temple. Max Geldman was available too, who teaches through Side Street Projects. Both of these folks have collaborated/ supported Invisible Tea House, my artist-residency at the Temple.
LAON. There is a LAon on Yelp that closed and was located on Western. My error is that I sent the Western address to both Jose and Max and so it took us 30 minutes of driving around to find the correct place.
This is a fusion Italian pop up. Half of the place is a sushi restaurant and the other half is the Italian fusion restaurant. Same staff. The Sushi side closes earlier that the Italian side. NOTE: apparently the sushi place has an amazing fish n chips on the menu. Needless to say, there's a lot going on here.
Bottom line, the homemade pasta is delicious. I especially loved the squid ink pasta dish. That was spectacular. 3446 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90010
