Azuma in Gardena

 

I've noticed this restaurant for decades, it feels like and finally ate lunch at Azuma located at 16123 S Western Ave, Gardena, CA 90247. I lunch meeting with the Director of the Gerth Archives at CalState Dominguez Hills. Greg and I have shared a lot of meals together. i always appreciate a fellow foodie. Azuma is like a time travel. The menu and style reminds me of all those Japanese restaurants my family would go to in the 70's/80's. The Sashima was delicious and fresh. The miso soup, rice and tsukemono were nostalgic and very tasty. This is Japanese comfort food or maybe Japanese-American comfort food. Really enjoyed it.
