Chico's in Highland Park

 

Embarrassingly, it took me almost thirty to try this place. Better late than never. I was running errands and got hungry and realized i was close to Chico's and decided this was the day. I parked and walked in and OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Juan Capistrano. and Hazel Mandujano were sitting right there. C R A Z Y ! We eneded up sitting there for like an hour just talking and catching up. So grateful for these two LA art community warriors. Proud to be their friend and comrade. The waters are very rough in the art community this year and much damage has already occurred due to the Feds.

 

They recommended the Chorizo plate which Juan had just finished eating. They used to live in HP and would often go here but now they live far away but recently started making the trek, returning to this community mainstay.

Chico is located at 100 North Ave 50, LA CA. The portions are substantial and the specialty coffee-coffee is sweet and delicous. Also rec of Hazel and Juan.
