House of Coffee on Jefferson

A fairly new coffee spot located at 5162 W Jefferson Blvd, LA CA 90016 has been on my radar for months. I new Paul Chavez lived near by and when i asked, naturally, he'd been there a few times already. They have a mini street for parking but I parked across the street next to the Minority Aids Project. On their West-facing wall is a mural I co-project managed with Robert Semon when we worked at SPARC in the early 1990's. The artists are Mary Linn Hughes and Reginald Zachary. The mural looked great, they must be touching it up regularly.

I walked across the street (there's a signal) and Paul was already inside. The coffee was delicious, they roast their own beans. I also had a ham and cheese croissant (which the re-heated for me) and a donut that looked like a spaceship. I renamed it Sun Ra.

I hadn't seen Paul in months and so it was great to check out this very nice coffee shop and catch up with him.
