Shin Chon in Koreatown

 

We set the meeting for last week. A meeting between myself and Sunyoung Lee and Ana Iwataki of Kaya Press, one of the Nations oldest Asian American Literary Organizations, now housed at the University of Southern California but originally from New York.

Sunyoung chose Shin Chon for Korean style breakfast soup. Shin Chon is located at 3033 W 6th Street, Los Angeles CA 90020.

They have braised short ribs and a soup called Hangover soup but we each ordered the same beef soup. It was light but deep with fresh slices of beef and vegetables. With rice and bancha, it was a wonderful way to start the day.
