Little Jewel of New Orlean in Chinatown

It was a pleasure to discover Little Jewel with Ms. Carol and Ms. Janet. Ms. Carol is from Texas and is familiar with New Orleans cooking. She was blown away by the authentic Po-Boy. We shared an Oyster Po-Boy and a Shrimp Po-Boy. The story apparently is the chef came to LA, tried a bunch of gigs but nothing stuck. He decided to go to the culinary program at LA Trade Tech and there he meet the folks who now work at Little Jewel and this team is producing some amazing AMAZING eats. I've gone back since with the fabulous Lynnel George, who's family is from New Orleans and she is very enthusiastic about Little Jewel. My third trip was yesterday, so i am going through this menu that includes fried catfish and a meatball sandwich called the Godfather.
