7-11 in Culver City

I can't find who designed this but there sure is a lot of criticism about this 7-11. It's been labeled the "Death-Star" design. It doesn't look very Death Star to me, maybe Tatooine? The toy train building is on the same street as is the saved vintage ice skating building, so it seems like it's on very good company.
