Soregashi on Highland Avenue
Soregashi is located in a mini mall on the corner of Highland Avenue and Santa Monica Blvd, amongst all of the galleries that moved from La Cienega a number of years ago, 6775 Santa Monica Blvd LA CA, shall we say it's South Hollywood?
The food was very good and the service was very good. It doesn't quite hit my top ten but it's pretty good. he details are a little loosey goosey. For instance, the rice was not pronounced, the fish was not extraordinary and the form of the sushi not sturdy. Sushi is a bitch. Everyone has an opinion and a preference. It's a simple collaboration of ingredients which is what makes it so difficult to prepare well and is open to so much "monku monku". This is one of the reasons i don't go out to eat sushi or go to kai-ten sushi. Because no one expects kai-ten sushi to be good so when it is, it blows you away. In Los Angeles, i've only been to a handful of places that made me smile. Some of them are closed, long gone, forever. But it's good. it's a good place. It's not exceptional and sushi has to be exceptional. (sorry for being such a-hole)
