Goody's Drive Thru in Palm Desert California

 

We were in Palm Desert CA to see a basketball game on Thanksgiving Day. The hotel provided a lavish breakfast but by noon we were hungry again. We checked out of the hotel and started searching for a place to eat. Everything but fast food places were closed and none of us were so hungry as to want to go that route, finally we found Goody's located at 40205 Washington Street, Palm Desert CA 92211.

The place was packed, understandly and over half the attendance seem to be in town for the same game we were. There's a silent and often not so silent comradery in such cases with tables of folk wearing the paraphernalia of one team or the other.

My Mom must have been hungry but also we didn't realize the portions perhaps. She ordered the Fish and Chips, a bowl of soup and onion rings.

I ordered the Cobb Salad.

I ended up eating some of her order but we were left with so much afterwards, which we ate on the ride home back to Los Angeles.

It helps that AZ won the game. The two hour ride back was pleasant and the traffic almost non-existent.

The food at Goody's served us twice in a sense and the quality of this diner really was greatly appreciated by me, my Mom and my Brother.
