Yukari Chaya in Miyajima Hiroshima
Two weeks ago, I was in Miyajima for the first time, an islands off the coast of Hiroshima, Japan, famous for the red gate in the shore. My friend, Tom Clancey and I were in Hiroshima doing a project and spent one day in Miyajima, soaking up the tourist vibes. After hiking for a little over two hours from shrine to shrine, we came back down and found this tea-coffee shop. The store is a vintage Japanese building with a very picturesque backyard garden. it felt very civilized and echoes a time that must have been influenced by a European trade influence.
