Sushi Gen

Sushi Gen is located in Honda Plaza on the southeast corner of Central and 2nd Street in Little Tokyo. It's a staple in Little Tokyo. It's been there for decades. One of the great things about Sushi Gen is the atmosphere. It's very family oriented on one hand yet it has enough sophistication to be a hot spot for a date. The lunch and dinner crowds are often huge and if you don't time it right, you could be waiting a half hour outside. The sushi chefs are pretty awesome and friendly. It's such a show sometimes. They also have dinner and lunch plates ranging from tempura to sukiyaki. The staple is sushi, however. I spent about $70 for eight dishes for lunch. Pricey for lunch but not necessarily for choice cut sashimi. Is it the best? Maybe not but it's one of the most enjoyable.
